Museum of Aviation is located at the entrance of Bourgas Airport and is a great place to spend your free time. The exposition consists of civil and military aircraft that were part of the Bulgarian Air Force in the period 1960 - 1996. In the Burgas Aviation Museum you can see TU-154 and AN-12, which are the only ones of this type left in Bulgaria. The interactive exhibition called Homo Volans (The Flying Man), located in AN-12 isimpressive. It includes many authentic objects, model airplanes, costumes, interactive installations and archives from the history of aviation. A unique experience for visitors is the opportunity to "pilot" an airplane with the help of virtual reality glasses

Nessebar - The city of 40 churches

Eternal as the sea.

Going north of Sunset Resort, don’t forget to visit one of the most popular Bulgarian cities - Nessebar. Dating from the Middle Ages, the city has preserved its architectural, historical and cultural heritage to this day. In its old part, walking along the winding streets of the cobblestones, you can still see small neat shops, art galleries and museums, or visit one of the many churches dating from the antiquity.

Nessebar is one of the oldest cities in Europe and the richest in architectural monuments from the Middle Ages in Bulgaria. The remains of an ancient fortress wall, the churches, which are exquisite works of medieval Bulgarian-Byzantine architecture, as well as the 60 Revival houses, give a unique look and a special atmosphere of the city. The ancient part of Nessebar is a cultural monument and is under the protection of UNESCO. The cultural heritage of the city is preserved in five museum expositions. In the old part there is preserved and only one of the 42 churches that were built in Nessebar. Some of the others have suffered in art galleries. The emblem of the town is the old mill, which has remained only as a tourist attraction, and is located on the site of the 400-meter isthmus that connects the old and new part of Nessebar.

Those looking for more adrenaline and entertainment can take a helicopter tour of Nessebar, boat trips and a variety of water sports are available on the beaches. The festivals "Golden Mesemvria", International Art Festival "Constellations in Nessebar", "Pop Rock Fest" and the International Children's Festival "Sun - Joy - Beauty" are held annually in Nessebar. The Cinema Museum in Nessebar is unique in its kind and every year is one of the main attractions of the city. It features exhibits of sets and props used in various films, donated by film studios and lovers of the seventh art.

Sunny Beach

Beach and sunshine for everyone.

Sunny Beach is the largest resort in Bulgaria, located in the southern part of the Black Sea coast, in a spacious and beautiful bay. Its northern part reaches the easternmost hills of the Balkan Mountains, creating a magnificent combination of sea atmosphere and fresh mountain air.

Sunny Beach is the first Bulgarian resort received the prestigious international Blue Flag award for the cleanest beaches. It is visited by many foreign and Bulgarian tourists every year. The beach of the resort is about 10 km long. The sand is fine and golden, the seabed has a slight slope and is convenient for bathing. Summer water temperatures do not fall below + 23˚. The invigorating mountain air and the sea breeze refresh the dry and hot days and make the nights pleasant and cool.

Sunny Beach offers a wide variety of accommodation and entertainment, shops and restaurants. During their holiday the guests of the complex can go for a walk with tourist autotrain, bike a rickshaw or enjoy a romantic carriage ride. For lovers of water sports are offered surfing, water skiing, para-glider, diving, jet, water bike and more. Sozopol

Whither you look, the sea is always around you.

Sozopol consist of several small peninsulas located in the southern part of the Burgas Bay, 35 km south of Bourgas city. It is the successor of the Greek colony Apollonia and together with Nessebar is one of the oldest Bulgarian cities. Today Sozopol attracts many tourists coming from all over the world to see the churches, museums, landmarks and architecture of the Old Town, to enjoy the beautiful beaches and unique nature. Moreover for the summer holiday lovers in nature, in the immediate vicinity are the campsites "Garden", "Goldfish", "Kavatsi", "Fun" and "Fig".

Sozopol has a rich history and culture. Most of the houses in the old part of the city are cultural monuments because of their architectural composition of stone and wood. The millennial history of Sozopol leaves many traces both on the surface and under the sea waters near the city. The rich heritage of ancient Apollonia and Medieval Sozopol can be seen in the Archaeological Museum. Most of the exhibits are from ancient times. The water area around the city is dotted with artifacts from this period and the sights in the museum are constantly growing.

One of the most significant buildings in the Old Town is the medieval church of the Holy Mother of God. The iconostasis is exquisitely carved, and the church is not painted from the inside, which is a rarity for Bulgarian Orthodox churches. It dates back to the 15th century and has been declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The attraction of Sozopol is increased by the fact that on the nearby island of St. John were found the relics of St. John the Baptist, which are now preserved in the church of St. Cyril and St. Methodius.

The city is a favorite vacation place among the Bulgarian cultural elite. It is no coincidence that one of the biggest summer festivals is organized in Sozopol - Apollonia Arts Festival. It is held annually in the first week of September, and its main idea is to preserve cultural traditions and support young talents. During this time you can see many events - theater performances, outdoor concerts, chamber and jazz concerts, film screenings.

And if you want to make your walk to Sozopol even more memorable, visit the castle "In love with the wind", which is located 2 km west of the town to the village of Ravadinovo. There you will enjoy beautiful landscaping, exotic trees, plants and flowers, lakes inhabited by freshwater fish and birds, bronze and marble sculptures, summer cinema, horse base, fountain of desires and many other fabulous beauties.
